You ask your kids about Fortnite, and they will tell you how crazy they are about this gameplay.

However, if this behavior is making you concerned about their safe gaming experience, then Fortnite has got your back.

The console offers a range of parental controls that allow you to monitor the online activities of your kids and help you keep them safe and secure on this gaming platform.

In this article, we’ll explore some of the methods that are effective in enhancing your kids' safety while they are enjoying battling.

How to Set Fortnite Parental Controls?

Fortnite is one of the most popular online multiplayer games, where players battle it out in a virtual world.

It has some built-in security features that ensure your kids’ safety while they are battling.

To begin, you first need to have an account on Epic Games; only then you can proceed with these steps.

However, if you already have one, then let’s begin with setting up a PIN:

  • Pause the Game, and go to Main Menu >> Profile icon >> Settings.

  • Select PARENTAL CONTROLS >> SET UP PARENTAL CONTROLS.

  • Tap on CHANGE EMAIL to add another email address and tap NEXT.

  • Enter the six-digit security PIN and tap NEXT.

(Note: The PIN you entered for Epic Games Parental Control would be the same here.)

As you proceed further with the steps, after entering the Fortnite PIN, you’ll see the options, including:

  • FILTER MATURE LANGUAGE

  • REQUIRE PIN TO ADD EPIC FRIENDS

  • VOICE CHAT

  • WEEKLY PLAYTIME REPORTS

  • TEXT CHAT

You can adjust the toggles next to these options as per your preferences.

How to Report or Block an Annoying User?

Fortnite is played by millions of players daily, and they are all free to interact with other users as well.

So, in case you notice any user annoying or disrupting your kids while they are on the game, you both must learn how to report and block such players.

To report or block the user:

  • Go to Settings >> REPORTING >> REPORT A BUG, PLAYER, OR ISLAND.

  • Then, tap on Report A Player, and next select a reason.

  • Now, select the player’s name you want to report.

  • Type in what the player has done, and tap Continue.

  • Next, you have the option whether you want to block a user or not- ‘DO YOU WANT TO BLOCK THIS PERSON’.

  • Once you are done, tap ACCEPT.

You may now take a sigh of relief knowing that your kids are having friendly gameplay in Fortnite.

But is this technical procedure enough to protect them from online harm? Maybe not!!

Today’s kids’ minds are sharper than we think. They will somehow find a way to disable all parental control settings.

In such cases, what you can do is have an open conversation with them and make them aware of the cyber harms they can encounter on gaming platforms like Fortnite.

It’s an effective way to teach them how to be online safe and enhance the bonding between parents and children.
